  • Rehearsal this evening went well. . . we spent the entire time on Tchaik 5.  The conductors tempos are obnoxiously slow, but I like most of his ideas . . . he's taking an extremely passionate approach to this symphony.

    Quote of the evening:
". . . play it with a sobbing left hand."
(in reference to vibrato produced by the left hand in the strings)

. . . the music does sob there.  Very fitting.

Funny, I've never played with this orchestra before .. . but I know just about everyone in it.
    Small world really.

It was nice to hear my fellow horn players tell me that I sounded good.  One of them asked me how I keep in shape while working a full time job.
I told her I'm a horn whore.  I'll play for anyone.    (its true really .. . offer me a bit of $$, and baby I'm there!)  She took my name 'n number in the attempt to rescue me from my 'whoring'.

heh.  Well . . . it's one of those days . . early to rise, late to bed, and even earlier to rise tomorrow.  And then I do it all over again . . . so . . . sweet dreams.  Until later!
