  • Seems that there was a reason to her sudden (and unexplained) kidney failure . .

    The company that makes Eukanuba and Iams wet cat (and dog!) food is recalling all of the food distributed between December 06 and March of this year. 
    reason? 
    Causes unexplained kidney failure and death in cats and dogs. 

    hmm. 

    class action lawsuit anyone?   I'm making my *own* cat food from now on.  No more store bought crap.

    they killed my baby.

  • I am soooo very sorry.   Can you please tell me where I can find more info on this?  My cat has been very ill, I've talked about it on my blog a few days last week.  He was jaundice, they though maybe liver failure?  Then his blood cell count shows both red and white are low and he isn't producing bone marrow.  My dog has had a respitory infection for a couple of months.  We feed Iams to both our cats and our dog.  I am very scared now.  I am truly sorry, I know how you feel.  Right now Sammie is holding his own shall we say, but I have had a few days of sadness and crying thinking about what may happen.  My heart goes out to you.

  • I think you would be completely within your right to sue. And maybe you should do some research on finding out if other people are planning to sue as well and jump in on that action.

    It won't bring your baby back... but it might help your heart a little.

  • Jesus.  I JUST read about this on another forum.  I have been feeding Luna Iams, which is on the recall list, so I am wondering a bit.

  • I'm soo sorry!! I lost my cat of 14 years (my parents got her when I was 5) a couple of years ago to kidney failure. I felt horrible about putting her down, but she was in such pain... really it was the only humane thing to do. In a way, it kind of balanced out in the end. A few months later, my friends found a 3 month old siamese kitten in a ditch off of a highway. There was no way we could've kept her if Creamie was still alive...

    If you feel the need to sue, definately check out and see if other people are grouping together. It'll help out with the cost of a lawyer and a group has more of a chance than a single person alone. Good luck.
