  who knew?!?  I mean . . .of all the instruments . . I actually like a concerto from the one that has one of the worst reputations in the symphony orchestra.  (teehee). 

  
  

   

  
  

  I played for the KSU symphony orchestra last night (another concert with 4 ringers in the horn section . . go KSU!) and we played the Bartok Viola Concerto . . .

  
  

   

  
  

  it was rather enjoyable . . . the 2nd movement was gorgeous . . and the deep throaty tones the girl got out of that instrument were just breathtaking. . absolutely lovely.   She was very young . .so some of the technique was lacking . . but thankfully the technique is easier to learn than tone . . and that girls got tone in spades!
