  • Ok . . mad crazy posting today.      This one
ties a couple of things together.  Disclaimer:  I know I'm
only in the middle of my "New Apartment" Saga . . . but the rest of it
will be coming very soon.  I just don't want to inundate you all
with a HUGE post of mostly boring stuff!

    This post covers 2 major items . . .

#1 - My Photo Challenge!    Remember to go HERE to check it out . . .

#2 - My New Apartment!  Yaaayy!  All of these pictures
kinda-sorta fall into thiese catagories.  So here they are . . .
    enjoy.

    Favorite Things

things you love and treasure, even
though someone you love may want you to throw them in the trash!
Things you'll never get rid of.

I have a bit of an addiction  .. . to 2 main items.
My family and friends think i'm a. nuts (truth!), and b.  just
    plain dumb . . . but hey.  I'm addicted.

I love candles.  ESPECIALLY smelly ones.    My
favorites of the group are  . . all the way to the left . . thats
from Bath & Body Works . . its a Jasmine Vanilla candle (YUM . .
its my absolute fave!) . .. and second would be (on the right . . the
green and yellow wrapped candles) . . The Glade 3 scents in one candle
. . called Orchid delight or something... whatever.  Its
    yummy!
I also really love the oil burner in the center.  Though I have
the tendancy to let the oil go on the flame too long . . and burn the
    stuff.    ick!

I'm addicted to writing utensils.  This is only about 1/16 of the
collection that I have.  I use *all* of thse pens.
(what the hell is wrong with me?)
There is a store in the area called Hollos . .. its a pen/stationary
overstock type store.  SO fun.  (sick . . I know.)

my lamp.  I love this lamp.  I found it at my favorite store
(Z Gallerie) . . and it was the *last* one.  I had to buy
    it.    And I LOVE it!

and last but not least.  MY PAINTING.
I lusted after this painting for almost a year.  It's large
(you'll see in the apt. pics) . . its bold . . and its gorgeous.
My mother was surprised that I liked it.  For over a year, it was
    $150 bucks . . and I couldn't *couldn't* manage to bring myself to
    spend that much on it.

But to my happy surprise, I walked in the door to findmy painting in the clearance section.

    *GRAB*
That was MINE.  60 bucks baby, and its hanging on my wall!  I LOVE it!

And now . . . *drumroll* The pictures you've all been waiting for.

    The New Apartment!

The kitchen!  A bit bare as of now . . but hey . . this is a work
in progress.  Oh . . and I'm *definitely* gonna have to fin da way
to cover that lovely grey breaker box. hehe

The living room!  (notice the lovely sliding glass doors. . .
there *is* a patio out there!  And again.. keep in mind.. .it
    still needs work.

My office and part of my kitchen.  I have so much storage.
    It's great!  And see . . there's THE painting!
(and of course... the workstation of the owner of this place.
    )

The bathroom!  And another item that I LOVE and is a
    favorite  . . (2 actually!) . . 1 . . the KITTY!  and 2 - the
shower curtain.    I ADORE my shower curtain  . .

The "surprise" in the closet.  Another *favorite* aspect of this apartment.

Ok . . so thats it for now.  I know . . its still kinda
bland.  Not all my art is up (waiting on a few pieces) . .. and I
need my bookshelves in my bedroom, then I'll send pics of that.

But for now . . I'm gonna drop into bed.  Hope you enjoy!  Later taters.

    ~Mere  `@(_)

  • Well
. . it seems that I've been so wrapped up in moving, that I've
completely forgotten that its my turn for the Photo Challenge!!!
    My goodness!

Go HERE to get all the info . . . and I'll put my pictures up as soon as I get them all taken.

    Happy Photo-Ing everyone!

  • Yet another episode in the "New Apartment" Saga . . .

    New Apartment:  Day 3
    (Wednesday, August 24)

So I got a few things
done this morning . . . started a load of dishes going.  After that was done, I went to do a load of
    laundry . . . .  until I realized . .

    I don’t have any laundry
detergent.  *sigh* I *tried* to prepare
myself . . . but my mind still proves to be imperfect.    I
also still have no food.  So I need to
    definitely go to the store.

    My friend John is coming
over later, and we’re going to practice for this crazy acoustic night
    again.  (yep, I’m doing it again) . . I’m
nuts.  But he’s coming over at 3, and then
I’m heading to Jenny’s to babysit the two darling munchkins while her and her
    fianc
ée go and have a date.  (aren’t I sweet?)  *lol*
So yeah . . I think a run to the store is in order . . . and considering
    its 1:00 . . . I better get going!
      BBL!

      . . . . . later on that day . . . . .

    Whew, what a long
day.  My friend John is highly impressed
with my apartment.  Says that its
    definitely “me”.  Whatever that
    means.  *lol*  But that’s cool!

I put a call into the
cable company earlier this afternoon, and no one has called me back yet.  :-  I
wonder how long I’m gonna have to wait . . . hopefully not too long .  . . otherwise I’ll be writing about “new
apartment: day 22”  *lol*  that will be one heck of a long post.  *grin*

    After I practiced with
    John . .  I went over to Jenny’s to
babysit.  I actually got to meet her
MAN.    he’s an actual person! *lol*  They got engaged over a month ago, and I just
    met him tonight!

    He seems really sweet .
. . and he seems to *really* love her . . . so I’m so pleased for her.  She just can’t let him drink too much (we all
had margaritas after they got back) . . . he had a little over 2, and went
    loopy. *lol*  It was funny.

    The kids were good . . .
    K. (the 5 yr old) was crazed as usual.
Bouncing off furniture . . . doing somersaults and cartwheels all over
the place.  Crazed I tell you.  Crazed.
    H. (the 10 mo. old) was crrraaaabbbyyyy when she woke up.  WHEW was she crabby.  She wanted her mommy, and definitely not me .
. . and I had to walk her around the apartment singing her song to her for a
good hour before she decided that I was ok.
Then she FINALLY took her bottle . . and all was right with the
world.  (it’s really cute . . each girl
has their own song that mommy made up . . . and they both react to it.  K. LOVES to hear her song, and she’ll cuddle
up with you while you sing it (so cute!)
. . . and sometimes it’s the ONLY thing that can calm H. down.  If she’s pitching the hugest fit in the world
. . . you start singing her song . . . and she just instantly quiets down.  So amazing.
    I love musical families.
    *grin*

So after the bump in the
road, we were all good . . . we all watched movies, and had some dinner . . . .
fed the baby (always an experience) . . . and then it was the bedtime
struggle.  By 9:00 K. was just about
sleeping . . and H. was goin strong. *lol*
Mommy finally got home and finished the job. *lol*  The time management skills that one has to
have to get 2 kids fed, changed and into bed must be immense.  *lol*

    Ok . . I’ve blabbed
enough for now.  I’ll chat with ya’s all
    later.
    J  Nite
    nite!

  • Another installment from the apartment diaries.

    New Apartment:  Day 2
    (Tuesday, August 23)

    It was a quiet night
last night.  After I got home (yep, I got
a shower curtain!), I actually sat down and read a bit of my book (Nora
    Roberts.)  ((shut up . . I know))

    One definite weird
    thing  . . . . there is a man in my
    freezer.

    Yep.

*lol*  I dunno what it is, pipes in the fridge or
something . .. but it sounds like there’s a man, inside the freezer saying
    “heeeyy”  and/or “hello?”

    SO.  WEIRD.

    I’m sure I’ll get used
    to it.

    I still have boxes and
crap everywhere.  I had to go back to the
folks house today to get the kitters.  I
didn’t want her bouncing around during all the furniture moving, so it was much
easier this way.  Everything was already
set up for her when she got here.  She
freaked a bit when she got here . . . did about 3 rounds around the apartment .
. smelling and whatnot.  She’s currently
sitting on one of the shelves on my desk (which, just like everything else, is
still empty.)   I may leave it that way .
. . she might enjoy it there.  (I’m such
    a pushover.)

    I still have no food
(except for a monstrous load of cat food) *lol*
A few more boxes have been unpacked . .. but I’m still in disarray.

    I finally pulled all my
dishes out though.  Had to put them
directly into the dishwasher . . . 2 years of storage builds up all sorts of
    funk on them.    bleck.
But they are all now piping hot and clean (yay dishwasher!)

    My arms are pretty sore
    .  . but I’m not surprised . . I did most
of the heavy lifting yesterday.  But
    otherwise, I feel pretty good . . so that’s a good deal.

    Meh . .. I can’t decide
where to put my ‘kitchen table.’

    I have a small apartment
. . .it has 1 bedroom (with walk in closet), 1 bathroom (with washer and dryer
IN the closet . . .therefore erasing any sort of storage in there.), one small
living room, a “dinette” . . which is becoming my ‘office’ of sorts . . . and then
my kitchen (and a small entry way.)  I’m
probably going to put the table in the ‘office’ as well . . . I just have to
figure out how I want to do it.

    Don’t worry, as SOON as
I get internet service, I’ll be posting pictures!  (as soon as my apartment is clean of course.
    Hehe)

Ok . . I’m beat.  Hopefully by tomorrow or Thursday, I’ll have
a hookup, so I can see how you all are doing.
Take care!  I’ll check in tomorrow.
    J

    ~Mere  `@(_)

PS the bed is amazingly fantastic, and I recommend
them highly.  All I need now is a bed
frame so I’m not sleeping 4 inches off the ground. *lol*

    *poof*

  • Oh gosh you will all *love* this .. .

I got an IM today from my ex. boyfriend . . .

Says that he wants his "stuff" back or he's gonna call the
cops.    (I've had his key, and a bunch of gifts he's
    given me).    **edit**
His key, and just about everything else is already in the
mail.   But there's just no way I can afford to give him 170
some bucks.  no way.  **end edit**

How freaking low is that??  He gives me gifts . .  but the
only way I'm allowed to keep them is if we stay together.  We
break up . . .he takes 'em right back.  *lol*  I'm beyond
    flabbergasted.

He also says that I owe him 170 odd bucks that he used to buy a plane ticket for me to come visit him.

That he said he would pay for.

And now he wants that money??

When he makes 18 bucks an hour??

and I dont have a job??

Good lord.    Can you believe that??  He says one
    thing . . but means something totally different.  I'm hurt . . I'm
amazed. . . and I'm beyond pissed off.

and I'm tired.  tired of dealing with this.  He says he's calling the cops to get his money back.

I just still can't believe it.

  • Later that evening . . .

It seems I should have taken the truck back myself.

In the process of re-filling the gas tank on the truck, my Mother found a way to shimmy the truck right into one of those concrete pylons surrounding the gas pumps.

      how does she manage that??

Fortunately . . . she didn’t hit the pump!!!  Unfortunately, its going to cost $160.  *gulp*

I should have taken the truck back myself.

    *lol*

  • Good Morning all.

I am writing from my new apartment (yay!).  I *just* got internet access, so I figured I'd stop by and update.  While I was offline, I wrote a little "to post to Xanga" journal in word about my first week here at the apartment . . . I'll post a few of those in the next couple days to catch everyone back up (or myself . . whatever way you want to look at it) hehe

    So here's installment #1!

    errrr . . ..
maybe not.   Is there a reason I can't paste into this??  Maybe its the browser.  *sigh* oootay . . . gonna post this, come back and post the rest.  *lol*  I'm going to try a different browser.  brb!!

    **edit**  Lets try this again . . . . Installment #1!

New Apartment:  Day 1  (Monday, August 22)

God I’m tired.  We started at 9:00 . . . had everything loaded by 2:00  (including making a trip to the doctor for my mother, and a breakfast run for us all.)

We were unloaded by 6:00 . . . including the hour drive.

      *phew*

Now this may not seem amazing . . . *but* here’s the rest of the story.

My mother was in the hospital the day before . . . so we basically kept her to directing and sitting pretty.

My father is pregnant with triplets, a diabetic, and just so incredibly out of shape, that he can barely pick things up off the floor.

I (also being out of shape . . but at least in some physical condition to be able to do this) . . . had the biggest raging migrane I’d had for a long time.

So what happened today was nothing short of a miracle.

So . . . here I am with boxes surrounding me, my couch (MY COUCH!!  YAYY!)  . . and a brand new bed (that had to be put together by yours truly)  What a mess that was as well.  If anyone ever gets a sleep number bed (which I HIGHLY recommend!) . . . get the folks at the store to assemble it FOR you!  Trust me.  J

I have no cable . . . no phone line . . .aka: no internet connection.  I’m typing this into Word with the idea of posting this all later.  Hopefully not TOO much later!  -=lol=-

My parents have (with much thanks from me) decided to take the truck back so I can get some unpacking done.

Unfortunately, I’m so tired, sore, etc . . . that I just want to shower, and then sleep.

    One problem.  .  .  .

     I don’t have a shower curtain.  :embarrassed:

Oops.  Guess I forgot something!!!  Hehe

I suppose I’m going to have to go out and get one.

    Well . . . I’ll update more laters.  J  ~Mere  `@(_)

  • Well . . . it's my last day here at Kent/Blossom Music.

    How sad.

I'm gonna miss Cheryl, and Ricardo (chipotle), and all the office folk.  We had fun!

On to bigger things (maybe not better) . .. and maybe not even bigger. *lol*  we'll see.  I keep getting calls from recruiters . . . I'll go listen to their spiel . . . but I really don't think that they will be able to offer me what I need.  We'll find out.

Everyone have a wonderful weekend!  I'll be wrapped up in moving  . . (yay!), but I'll be back next week to post new stuff about my apartment.

at least I hope it'll be next week.

I'll have to see if I can get my internet set up with limited "fundage"

So yeah.  wish me luck and no broken glasses.  or appendages.  or anything else for that matter. *lol*

    to all!

    ~Mere  `@(_)

  • Well . . . I had an interview
this evening.  For a small home building firm out in Chagrin
Falls.  That'll be a bit of a drive for me if I get the job (about
45 minutes .  give or take, depending on traffic)  I suppose
that'll be fine (even though gas prices have made me want to *cry*
    recently).

The job itself seems pretty basic from the title . .
Receptionist.  But don't be fooled!  *lol*  Aside from 6
phone lines to manage (big deal) . . . I'll have all sorts of
accounting, budgeting, check cutting, and fire-putter-outter
    duties.

It pays pretty well to start, and the benefits are great.  The
    company seems a little . . . small and weird (to put it simply) . . .
and the guy who interviewed me had vampire teeth.  *lol*  I
have just a small weird feeling about it . . . but that was just one
guy . . . there are more people to be introduced to.

I've been awarded a second interview (or have they *grin* thats the
question) . . .and I told him I was interested.  The next one
    won't be until the 29th (or around there) . . . . so we'll see.
But I'll keep on puttin my resume out there . .. cause who *knows* what
    might pop up.

Hopefully everyone had a wonderful humpday . . . wheeee.  and I'll tell ya more later!

    ~Mere  `@(_)

  • Hmmm . . .    I wonder if mentioning it here will be a curse.  hmmm . ..

now that I've teased you all . . . I think I'm going to not say anything until after.  You'll know all about it in about 8 or 9 hours.  Come back later, ok?

** edit - thank you all for your song suggestions.  If you still haven't suggested any . . check out the post below!!!**
