  • Ok so this is just a whole bunch of silliness post.

10 years ago I was 17.  I was in the middle of my first semester of my Senior
year of Highschool.  I was so
introverted, that I tell people that I was “the paste that held the wall flower
to the wall.”  Right around this time is
when I began to sneak out of my shell.  I
was in marching band, and 90% of my friends were younger than me.  I was riding horses like nobody’s business,
and was beginning to think about my future.
Before now, I was *sure* that I was going to go to a school that had
horsebackriding as a major, and just do that for the rest of my life.  I haven’t been on a horse since.  (very sad really.)  But about now is when my absolute passion for
music was really going to take hold.  My
HS 10 year reunion will be this coming summer.
    Yikes.

5 years ago I was 22.  My whole life was different. I was a completely
different person.  I had just graduated
undergrad, and just been told that I had not been accepted to the ONE grad
school that I had applied and auditioned for.
(go me)  I had given up my drive
for my last year of school because of a boy.
    My first relationship.  My first
understanding of what true loss and betrayal was.  I was broken.
But on the other hand, I was a new person.  I was *experienced* now.  I had basically made the biggest mistake of
my life that past year, and was now turning over a new leaf. (though it took a
while.)  I got a job, started making
money, supported myself, and that shaped who I am today.

1 year ago I was 26.  I had just graduated with my Masters of Music in Horn
Performance.  I’m still proud of that
day.  I picked myself up off the bottom,
and clawed my way back to the top.  I
could go anywhere!  I was asked to work
for KSU for the upcoming year, and I said a definite yes.  I also met the guy who would become part of
the most argumentative relationship I would ever be in.

Yesterday I helped my best friend finish painting her apartment.  We have been at it for a few days now.  I woke up and drove to Starbucks and bought
us both a lovely morning wakeup call.  I
arrived at her new house, and got down to painting the 5 year old’s room.  In the process, my best friend proceeded to
spill my ENTIRE venti cup of liquid gold all over the new carpet.

I’ll be steam cleaning the carpet tomorrow morning.

    5 snacks I enjoy
    1. cheese
    (I’m it’s #1 fan)
    2. Honey Roasted Almonds (the ones you get at the fair, in a cone!)
    3. plain milk chocolate  . . either Dairy
    Milk, or Dove.
    4. um . .
    5. I’m not really a big snack girl.

5 songs I know all the words to
    1. Oh
    gosh . . . I’ll have to agree with E .
    .probably anything I listen to.
    2. Any Norah Jones
    3. Any Sarah McLachlan
    4. Any Everly Brothers (*grin*)
    5. More Than Words – Extreme
    hey .. I like it!!!

5 things I would do with 100 million dollars
    1. Pay off my Parents debt.  Buy them new cars, and send them on a
    FANTASTIC vacation.

    2. Give my best friend half.  She’s a
single mom with 2 kids.  She deserves it.

    3. Buy myself a Dodge Viper roadie in Steel Blue, and a spankin’ new Corvette
in Pitch Black.  Both with black leather
interior and some smokin’ rims.  Yum.

    4. Buy a nice condo in the city, with spacious rooms, hardwood floors, and big
picture windows . . somewhere in a highrise, on the top floor.

    5. Buy a winter home on an island in the ocean, somewhere warm, somewhat close
to a city, but not close enough to hear or see.
Somewhere with soft white beaches, crystal clear water, and warm
temps.  And then I’d invest the rest and
    live off of that!  hehe

5 places I would run away to
    1. New Zealand
    2. Hawaii
    3. Vail
    in the summer.
    4. Tuscany
    5. Anywhere
with a warm beach and clean water.

5 things I would never wear
    1. cropped
    pants.  Ugh.
    2. right now?  A bikini.  *shudder*
But maybe one day . .
    3. 6 inch heels.  Could you imagine?  That would make me 6’7.  *yikes!*
    4. a spandex body suit.  Ugh again!
    5. ummm . .. I can't think of anything else too horrific at  the moment. hehe

    5 favorite tv shows

    5 bad habits
    1. P.R.O.C.R.A.S.T.I.N.A.T.I.O.N.
    2. I’ve learned that I have these funny mood swings like my mother . . and I
was completely unaware of them.  *sigh*
    3. I’m the most patient person in the world . . until I get behind the wheel of
a car.  People drive STUPID!  So I yell at them.  With my windows closed.
    4. I tend to get excited when a story is being told that I know . . . and I
tend to break in.  Its just that I’m
excited to tell the story . . . but I’ve found out that it ticks people
    off.  *lol*
    5. I’m very very picky, about a lot of things.
I’m stubborn, and everything has to be MY way.

    5 biggest joys
    1. My kitters
    2. My Best Friend
    3. Nature.  Nothing can be better than
waking up to a BEAUTIFUL fall sky, with puffy clouds, and bright colors.
    4. Music.  Especially orchestral
music.  Joy to the n’th power.
    5. Comfort Food.

    5 favorite toys
    1. My Car!  Yay for convertibles!
    2. My digital camera .. . . it goes everywhere with me.
    3. My computer . . . of course.
    4. My espresso machine.  Starbucks . . at
    a MUCH smaller price!
    5. My DVD player with surround sound.

    5 fictional characters
    I would date

    Prince
    Charming (of course . . I mean really . . who wouldn’t??)
The Prince in Sleeping Beauty.  (I’m
    sensing a theme)
Leopold from the movie Kate and Leopold.
    Yummmmmieeee
The guy from The Wedding Date (I think that’s it. . . something like that)
    aaaaannnd . . . oh heck . . I’m at a loss.

5 people I tag to do
    this

    Who's as self-absorbed.....
?? dunno . . . are any of you self absorbed??

    Who's going to actually
fill this out without judging me....
errr . . . do people really actually judge me here??

    Who's
    going to think 'wtf?'....
Just about everyone really.  *grin*  I get that response often.

Who's going to read this, and actually think, "I wanna fill
    this out"....
Ooooooo I dunno.  Me.  But I already filled it out.

Who's going to think, "omg! what an idiot", and still
    fill this out....
Don’t you like how I’ve avoided tagging even one person?

    Enjoy!!  ~Mere  `@(_)

FYI - I got tagged for this HERE!

  • It seems I forgot to tell the story that goes along with the photos
below.  (Photo Challenge).  So, I’ll fix that.  Right now!

Last year, about this time, I was working at KSU . . . doin’ my music
thing .. . yadda yadda.  Well, in the
middle of the day, one of my major rehearsals was cancelled.  I still had a rehearsal later that evening,
and didn’t have enough time to go home . . . but I didn’t want to sit on my
butt in the hallway of the school and just *wait* for 3 hours.

    So I got in my
    car.

I drove around, just seeing what I could find.  I really never explored the Kent area, as I
would go to work/rehearsal/class/whatever . . and then go straight home.   I found some cute shops, and back roads
paved in brick.  Then I found this little
parking lot.  I pulled in, and saw this
little path leading into the woods.
(Now, keep in mind, I’m in dress clothes and HEELS.)    So of
course, since heels are exactly what everyone should go exploring in, I got
out, grabbed my camera (more on that later) . . . and plunged in!

I really had something in mind . . . I had this old disposable camera
that I wanted to get rid of . . so I thought I’d do a little experiment.  So I snapped them all, and decided to see
which turned out better . . . the digital or the disposable.  Surprisingly, the disposable camera did
rather well.  Can any of you tell which
is disposable and which is digital??

(oh and don’t worry . . . my shoes were FINE!   Just a little mud. . *grin*  easily cleaned off!!!)

    But I had ended up finding a place that I really liked . . . and I
photographed more in the days after.  It’s
just a lovely place to walk, with a few benches scattered.  You would never know that if you just looked
up a bit, a bustling city of Kent,
    OH was RIGHT there.

    Challenge!
      ~*~*~*~

This weeks photo challenge is hosted by Chelle27.

    Her subject is Smell this!

She wrote: a photo of your favorite scents
or things you like to smell!

Oh boy all . . . did this open a can of
worms.  *lol*  I think I went a little crazy on this one . .
and I’m so very sorry that its going to take your browsers 3 years to open this
post . . but there are a TON of pictures . . . so maybe its worth the wait?? Hehe

So here we go . . . smell this!!

    First off . . I love flowers.
    These didn't have much of a scent . . but I discovered this lovely . .
valley of flowers behind my apartment building.  So I had to get
    the camera out. . .

this is just a bonus pic . . . cause I thought it was cool.

This is walking towards the 'valley'  . .

hmmm I love the beginning hints of fall color . .

a peek into the valley . . what a surprise when I saw this!

look at all the lovely colors . . .  this is the floor of the
valley.  Covered in these yellow flowers.  I was even more
surprised when I saw what flower it was . .

    how incredibly sweet are they?

more darling flowers mixed in with the yellow . ..

Ok . . now onto the actual Photo Challenge . .

mmmmm . . chocolate.  (there are two missing now!  teehee!)

This is a Glade Scented Oil Candle.   flavor?  Wild Orchid.  YUM
    curious?
    ~~

    http://www.scentedoilcandles.com/

    ~~

on the right . . the most gorgeous lemon scented soap I've ever
found.  I opened the box, and found bliss.   I stood in
the store for 10 min. just smelling.
on the left . . . a Body Shop oil burner.  With Strawberry and
Violet scented oils.  Also very yummy!  I have a bad habit of
forgetting the candle is lit though, and I end up burning the oil to
the glass dish.  heh.  But still!  Yum!!

My favorite candles . . Glade 3n1  . . in Starlit Garden.  SO lovely.

and saving the best for last . .
This is Bath and Body Works Jasmine Vanilla lotion and linen
spray.  Possibly my most favorite scent EVER.  I have a
candle in this flavor too!  (you saw that in my photo challenge
    posting.)

    Yum.  Yum Yum Yum!

    Also
. . I have to make one quick bragging note . . . LOOK at how reflective
all my wood surfaces are!!!  Yay! hehe buffed to a SHINE.

I hope everyone had fun.  I know I sure did!
now its bedtime!  nite nite everyone!

  • So this week has been my "Week of Three".   Three bad things . . all in a row.

    Monday ---- the cockroach

    Tuesday ---- the Wolf Spider

Wed  -----   my close encounter with death.

Yeah . . it was that exciting.  My week is steadily going from dustgusting to dangerous at a rather rapid pace.

So I was on my way to my Woodwind Quintet rehearsal . . . we (so far)
rehearse once a week at good ole KSU.   So I'm heading onto
the highway . . . . and this guy in a large white pickup comes BLAZING
up behind me . . . by the point he reached me I was going about 70 mph
. . . he had to have been doing at least 90.    He
pinned the nose of his truck on my bumper and stayed there.  (note
to dumbshit:  I'm in the SLOW lane.  I can't move over any
    further!!!!!!!!!)
Asshole finally decides to pass me, and pulls a hard left into the next
lane, and screams on by, flashing me a rather dirty look on the way
past.  (his dirty look was met, and raised an eyebrow).  As
he flew by my car (just the next lane over) . . . everything kinda
popped into slow motion.  (its actually pretty neat how that
    happens).
He was a few feet infront of me, when the ladder on top of his truck
started to shake . . . and then it just slid right off.  (i'm not
talking a pansy ladder here either . . . this was a HUGE, heavy, metal
ladder)  This is where everything went into super slow
    motion.
The ladder hit the ground . . . and bounced up a little bit . . . and
then started coming for me.  My mind pictured PERFECTLY what was
    going to happen next . . . as the ladder S .. L . . O . . W . . L . . Y
. . moved towards my car, my mind played a little movie . . . of the
foot of the ladder breaking my windshield and bashing my head in.
At this point I'm DRAGGING the wheel of the
car to the right (thank goodness for large highway birms) . . . and
luckily the ladder caught on a bit of tar  . . . and just as it
was about to impale my car . . it bounced away to the other side of the
    highway.
Now my brain has to deal with the car that I'm driving . . which is
hurriedly heading for the ditch next to the road.  So I right the
car . . . haul it back across the rumble strips  . . back into my
lane . . . and finally looked around.
The truck driver had finally realized that he lost something
(moron) and had pulled over.  Now my mind is replaying the whole
thing in like . . quadruple speed.  The cars behind me continue to
zoom out of the way as they see moron trying to retreive the ladder
from the middle of the highway.

    What a day.  How exciting.

    Whats next??  *worried look*

Thankfully I got to listen to
cheese metal all the way home.  (go 80's music!)

  • The spider was taken care
of.  (thank goodness).   Thanks to the help of my
*awesome* friend John.  (thank GOD he answered his phone!!!)

It took a little bit of time, a bunch of tissues, and a pair of needlenose pliers.

eew.     The MAN is coming out Monday.  (go exterminator go).

I have to wait till Monday.

  • The apartment honeymoon is over.

    I just killed

    a cockroach.

    O    M    G

Yeah I'm going to the landlords tomorrow.  And to the store.
and buying everything and ANYTHING that will kill those suckers.

It was only one.  It looked very disoriented.  (its more
disoriented now . .its DEAD)  So I hope it was just a freak
accident and that it wasn't meant to be in here and it was lost and
trying to find its way out.  yeah.  thats it.  oh god
    where's my clorox  . . . .

    **edit**
I'm freaking out.  This has not been my day, twice over now.
Not only did I find a cockroach last night . . . now . . there is the
BIGGEST FUCKING SPIDER I have ever seen in the US sitting in my
    doorway.

I am scared SHITLESS of spiders. . . especially ones that look at me
like I'm a tasty snack.  I'm literally on the verge of
    tears.  (this is stupid . . I"M stupid . . but I can't even sit
down and talk some sense into myself)  Why??  Why do I have
to be such a damn wussy GIRL.  ugh.  ugh ugh ugh.

    oh my god he moved.

    I'm going to have a heart attack . . . .

    **edit** #2 . . .
I had to call someone.  There is no way I could deal with this
myself.  So that someone thinks I'm a silly girl.  I DONT
CARE.  As long as he gets rid of this THING!  UUUGH.  I got ballsy enough to take a
picture.  With my zoom lens.  From as far away as
possible.  Its still frightening.  I can't even look at the
picture without feeling the need to gag.  *shudder*

  • This weeks photo challenge is hosted by tlck2000, her subject is

    before and after.

She wrote: It could be a project, or just the
simple passage of time that's changed something.

    So
heres my posting . . . (and a little bit of boasting)  ..wooo Im a poet.  Haha (and a nerd)

    Before    . .
    . .   . .   . .
    . .   . .   . .
    . .   . . and  After . . .

    So
    theres a story behind this . . .

    On
the way to my new apartment, my printer decided to not work any more.  It decided it didn
t  like its new working conditions, and ceased to
continue.  So I tried to take it apart,
and see what was going on, and basically got disgusted and left it in disarray
    all over my floor.

    So
when my parents came by the next day . . . that (of course) is the first thing
    they saw.

    My
    father  -
    whats wrong with the printer?

    Me
      -
    it
    s a
    piece of ass.
    kick-

    Father     -
-blank look- whats wrong with the printer?

    Me   -
    -siiiigh-  It decided to print
only yellow.  Theres nothing wrong with
the ink cartridges, they are brand new.
    I cleaned the print heads 40 times . . . still nothing.

    Father   -    is
    it out of ink?

    Me    -
    -smacks forehead-  didnt I just
    say?

    Father    -
did you put it through a cleaning cycle?

    Me
    -       Im leaving.

He stood there for about 6 minutes,
    contemplating the printer.

    The next day . . . I had a brand new
printer . . . and the bonus of a brand new, LCD flat movie screen 19 inch
    monitor.

I guess in the 6 minutes he stood there
contemplating the printer, he decided that he didnt like how my old HUGE
monitor hung over the edge of my desk.

    Hes so sweet.

So yeah . . I now have a new, gigantic
monitor.  Its GREAT for working with my
photos!  And it seems . . . I took the
printer in to get recycled at the computer store, and the guy said that the
repair would have run me about 50 bucks.
My father got the new . . updated printer . . for 60 bucks . . and it
    has a 20 dollar rebate.

The new printer was cheaper than the
    repair on the old.

    Figures.

    Works for me!

     Have a great day everyone.
